Intolerance Will Keep Us Together

by Jeremy Hooper

We've held off in addressing Colorado lawmakers Marilyn Musgrave and Wayne Allard, the names attached to the latest push for a Federal Marriage Amendment. The two have been at their shenanigans for so long...what more could be said? We wanted to just ignore them all together, but after coming across this forgotten gem from the nineteen hundred and seventies...well, we had to address it:

Yes, it seems this discriminating duo has been collaborating since the Nixon administration, traveling the land with their stable of conservative ditties :

"ERA, We Say No Way!"
"Only Harlots Burn Their Bras"
"Disco is for Sinners"
"Rocky Mountain, We Never Get High"
"Ode to Anita Bryant"

and a bitching cover of "Anarchy in the UK"

Unfortunately, in-fighting and the failure of "The Allard & Musgrave Happy Fun Variety Hour," busted up the act in the summer of '79. But every now and then, during a long day of pushing for bigotry as policy, the twosome will exchange a quick glance. A nod to their past...when their harmonies were as tight as their sphincters.

Reunion tour? One can only hope
