Daddy, Alabama scares me
The Alabama Senate voted 30-0 to give approval to a proposed amendment that would ban both gay marriages and civil unions in the state.
Yes, you read that right -- 30-0! There wasn't even one 'Bama Senator who had reservations about amending the state Constitution. Not even a sympathy vote.
Oh my.
The AP quotes the sponsor of the idiocy, Sen. Hinton Mitchem, as saying that he pushed for the bill because homosexuality is "not good for our children to see." We take a deep breath a calmly respond:
ATTENTION ALABAMA HOMO-GAYS: This is a red alert!! You need to evacuate NOW, as conditions are worse for your well-being than originally thought. This is not a warning. This is not a drill. Stay calm, but gather your belongings and MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
