Clubs gettin' a little too fruity for White County's liking?
In light of being pretty much forced by the ACLU to allow the formation of a Gay-Straight Alliance, administrators at Georgia's White County High School are now considering the elimination of all "noncurricular clubs."
That's a brilliant solution. And we're sure that when the Key Club is forced to stop meeting, they will in no way blame the homo-gays.
Of course all involved are denying that the action is in any way motivated by homophobia, with Superintendent Paul Shaw (pic.) telling the AP:
"Clubs have not lived up to what they are supposed to be doing, and the legislature is requiring that we do additional paperwork and things of that sort. Plus, we want to focus on academics this coming school year."
Seriously, someone must do something about the bureaucratic red tape that plagues club approval in the nation's school systems. It's really become too much for them to handle.
In addition to the club ban, we hear that school officials are mulling other policy changes such as adding "Smear the Queer" to the varsity sport lineup.
We never were any good at that game.
