APA on gay marriage: It just makes sense

by Jeremy Hooper

As expected, the American Psychiatric Association has approved a statement supporting same-sex marriage and the benefits that come along with the legal unions. The statement still needs approval from the association's directors in order to make the organization the first medical group of note to speak out in support of 'mo marriage.

The brainy crew is throwing support behind the unions because they say it is "in the interest of maintaining and promoting mental health," diametrically opposed to Focus on the Family's support of homosexual discrimination and stigmatization, which seems to be in the interest of maintaining and promoting nothing more than unbridled hatred.
