Helms: Helping AIDS grow to pandemic levels might have been stupid

HelmsIn his memoir to be published in September, former U.S. Senator Jesse Helms will reportedly provide a pseudo-apology regarding his lack of support for early AIDS research and funding.

Also this September, pigs will reportedly take pseudo-flight, hell will pseudo-freeze over, and the day between "the 12th and never" will be pseudo-recognized for the first time in history.

Helms cites a friendship with rock star Bono as one of the reasons why his views on AIDS became more compassionate, and a friendship with pop star Madonna as reason why his speech patterns have become more British.
