Poll: Majority of Canadians want gay marriage bill to stand; we, however, don't mind if it sits on occasion
A new Globe & Mail/ CTV Television poll indicates that a majority of Canadians want the country's same-sex marriage legislation to remain should Conservatives come into power next winter. According to the results:
55% -Would like the legislation to stand as is
39% - Want to see an attempt made to repeal
6% - Don't know
Yay majority! However, we at G-A-Y were most intrigued by that random 6% who fell in the "don't know" category, so we conducted our own poll of these indecisive beings to see just what made these fence sitters answer the way that they did. Their reasons:
52% - "Decisions are hard. Or maybe they aren't. Oh, I don't care. Or do I?"
33% - "I love gays, but simply detest weddings"
6% - "My actions are governed by the mystical nymph Farfu, and I'm really not sure how she'd feel about any of us marrying anyone from this planet"
5% - "I'm actually a monkey - a really smart and literate one, mind you, but simian nonetheless. So despite my gay support, I can't vote."
4% - "Are you my mommy, 'cause I go poopy in dipey?"
Oh, they can so be swayed to our side.
