Networks' scripted queer characters reach sweet 16; hoping for license (marriage not drivers)

According to GLAAD, of the 710 characters to be featured on scripted network TV shows this coming season, only 16 are of the L, G, B, or T persuasion. However, when they journey into the double and triple digit land of programming via coaxial cable, GLAADers find 25 scripted homo representations.

As for "ex-gay" characters on both network and cable, it seems that number will again remain firmly at zero. This is likely due to the fact that Hollywood television screenwriters, while talented, generally lack the ability to craft realistic characters out of carefully designed propaganda and deception.

Better luck next year, those who wage damaging campaigns of false compassion.
