UCC creating new TV spot; immediate rise in 'pro-fam' Tivo users expected
The United Church of Christ has announced plans to develop a follow-up commercial to last year's "Bouncer" ad, much ballyhooed (not to mention banned) due to its gay-accepting message.
The UCC crew is remaining tight-lipped as to the details of the new ad concept, though considering "Bouncer" was banned by two major networks, we'd like to offer up some suggestions as to how to get the new spot some "big four" airtime:
- Recreate the "Bouncer" spot, this time with the cast of "Desperate Housewives;" everyone wants on that bandwagon.
- Costume everyone in shirts reading "The big four are in no danger of becoming dinosaurs, we swear" t-shirts.
- In addition to anti-homophobia, throw in an opposition to Digital Video Recorders; they scare these network guys more than controversy.
- Offer to reunite the casts of "Sex and the City" and "Friends" in a made for TV extravaganza, airing on the net that runs the spot the most. When you can't deliver, just pick a "Friend" and blame their diva-like attitude for bustin' up the project.
The new commercial is scheduled to be unveiled publicly on November 1. Look for it...somewhere.
