Focus on the Family directs focus towards Big Apple

by Jeremy Hooper

The "focused on queer conversion" folks at Focus on the Family have announced that they're launching an advertising campaign in the NYC area in which they'll promote their TroubledWith.com website (a charming little Internet home which includes homosexuality among the items one might be "troubled with"). The "focused on intolerance" crew say they have purchased a 30-second ad spot that will run in Times Square and during "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and "Dr Phil" (scheduled to begin airing 11/21), and that they will also distribute promotional materials during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Relatedly, we hear that the FOFers will also spend their time in NY de-gaying the cast of Mamma Mia, renaming Chelsea "you're going to Hellsea," and convincing folks that this New Years, instead of a ball dropping, the sky will actually fall. Though we think they missed the boat by not creating a "protect the sanctity of marriage" float to join the Turkey Day parade, as that campaign is already full of hot air, delights those who look towards the sky for answers, and requires hundreds of minnions to man the concept in order to keep the illusion moving forward.

No word on whether NYC's ABC or CBS affiliates would choose to run ads for a website advocating the conversion of Christians (we'd like to think not), though we'll keep you posted.
