In which we nurse CWA's Golden hangover

by Jeremy Hooper

Reacting to last night's Golden Globes, the Concerned Women for America take the opportunity to not only make predictable jabs at Brokeback Mountain, but to also extend their antipathy to basically the totality of the evening's prize claimers. In their awards show follow-up, the ladies reason that "[e]xcept for Walk the Line and Grey’s Anatomy, award winners last night were decidedly leftist in ideology..." This would of course seem to indicate that the Concerned Women must've all been out getting some Concerned Popcorn or using the Concerned Toilet during this pivotal Walk the Line scene:

It was the heart of the movie, that gay rights march performance.

Further decrying the night of militant leftist fun and its agenda-pushing winners, CWA’s Dr. Janice Shaw Crouse says, “Once again, the media elites are proving that their pet projects are more important than profit,” to which we reply: "Uh-huh, because we all know how little these altruistic Hollywood producer types care about the bottom line. It is indeed their soul that they are always looking to feed, not the live tiger who lives in the backyard of the guesthouse to the pool house to the main house of one of their summer homes in Malibu. In fact, we think we saw a few of them attired in two week old couture last night, showing considerable restraint in their decisions to not attire themselves in the pricier high fashion trends of the past ten minutes. Money is no better than kindling to these folks, and in fact, they use it as such. You've got their profit-shunning number, Ms. Crouse."

Be sure to check back in a couple of week for CWA's Oscar round-up, where we hear they'll just verbally give up on the experience of film itself.
