The revisionist nature of AFA's anti-Ford campaign
From Christian News Wire, 1/11:
From American Family Association's website, today:
From American Family Association's release, today (though it read 43 on the day of its release):
Moreover, the AFA has gone back to the letter they claim to have sent to Ford on January 10 and added two additional "pro-fam" peeps --William G. Owens of Coalition of African-American Churches and Jerry Flowers, Executive Director of RealMarriage.Org -- to the roster of signatories. Neither name was there on Wednesday, when they announced that they'd sent the demanding letter, to which we say: Horse dung! It may sound petty, but once you send your missive, you're not allowed to go back and just add others who might want to jump on board. You can certainly add them to the overall campaign of Ford-centric demands, but don't make it seem as if they were on the original letter if they, in fact, were not. If you sent the letter with yourselves and 41 other groups' names attached, as your own original release seems to indicate, then that is the non-revisionist number you must stick with.
Altering this number may be minor deceit, but it is deceit nonetheless.
