2 months and 3500+ couples later, same-sex unions have yet to destroy United Kingdom
New figures show that 3,648 same-sex couples in England and Wales have joined in quasi-matrimony since marriage-like unions became legal in the UK this past December.
Meaning, of course, that 3,646 recent English and Welsh dinner parties took a sharp turn towards the tedious when the dessert course was followed by the sing-songy question, "Who wants to see honeymoon pictures?" as if the party attendees really had a choice.
Ah, if only we stateside 'mos were able to force our friends to feign excitement at the sight of our boring snapshots. ::sigh:: Someday.
