Queer Eye for the Cable Modem-Owning Guy

by Jeremy Hooper

Having already queerified their airwaves within an inch of their televised lives, the folks at the Bravo cable network have announced that they'll partner with online behemoth PlanetOut Inc. to launch OutzoneTV.com, a broadband site targeting the gay community with LGBT-centric programming. Initially featuring such past Bravo favs as "Boy Meets Boy" and "Gay Weddings," the site is set to begin 'moing up the Internet sometime next month.

It remains to be seen if the NBC-owned network will be able to translate their gay-friendliness into online success, though if not, they always have the constrictive medium of nationally distributed cable television on which to fall back. Unlike us, who if a failure on the 'Net, have only the medium of shouting into a megaphone with which to convey our message. So we welcome you to the Internet, Outzone, and look forward to enjoying your offerings -- just don't be pretending you need this gig in order to keep your babies fed.
