Start spreading the fair, accurate and inclusive news: GLAAD throws NYC bash

Tonight in NYC, the first of four 17th Annual GLAAD Media Awards will be held at the Marriott Marquis, where we have it on good authority that Erasure will be performing; Pamela Anderson will present the Vito Russo Award to photographer David LaChapelle; Wilmer Valderrama will present another award; and that folks like Ang Lee, Morgan Spurlock, and cast members from both "The L Word" and "Project Runway" will be in attendance.

Fancy.

Meanwhile, as our well-financed, respectable, less-prone-to-using-words-like-"batshit insane"-and-"poopy head" cousins hold their soiree, we will be at the bar in the lobby of the Marriott Marquis, rewarding our daily efforts challenging bias with a prize presented by our buddies Captain Morgan and Jim Beam. Sure, we may have no Wilmer Valderbigshot or Mr. "Oh look at me, I ate McDonalds for a month" at our sad little soiree, but we are hoping to be graced by the likes of "Random Tourist Lady Who's Visiting New York For The First Time And Won't Quit Talking About How Excited She Is To See Mamma Mia," "Times Square Homeless Person Who Smells Like Street," and "8th Avenue Lady of Ill Repute."

Not too shabby, if you ask us.

For those who aren't rich, hip, or well-connected enough to make the GLAAD soiree, don't fret -- Logo will air portions of the NY and Los Angeles awards on April 15, and VH1 will rerun them the following day. As for those who want to see our festivities -- look for grainy shots from the bartender's phone cam to appear on flickr within a matter of days!
