When we're not destroying society, we simply go around causing schisms
Due to the failure of American Baptist Churches, USA to aggressively discipline congregations with liberal gay policies, delegates from the Pacific Southwest region have voted 1,125 to 209 to recommend withdrawing from the national denomination.
And yes, you heard correctly -- a regional body is voting to withdraw from a national Baptist denomination because they aren't gay-unfriendly ENOUGH. This despite the fact that ABCUSA's self-definition stipulates marriage should be between a man and a woman and says "the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with biblical teaching.'' What does ABCPSW want -- public floggings of all who don't interpret Leviticus literally? Jesus! And we mean that literally -- JESUS, PLEASE COME CLARIFY!
The Pacific Southwest's board of directors will make the final decision on whether or not the regional body will split from the denomination; we instead wish they would split from the demonization.
