Muslim scholar: burn, toss, or otherwise punish gays
In an interview with the al-Jazeera network, leading Muslim cleric Sheik Yusuf Al-Qaradawi says homosexuals deserve:
"the same punishment as any sexual pervert - the same as the fornicator. The schools of thought disagree about the punishment. Some say they should be punished like fornicators... Some say we should throw them from a high place, like God did with the people of Sodom. Some say we should burn them, and so on. There is disagreement."
Disagreement -- you want Chinese for dinner but your friend wants Mexican, so you each state your claims as to why your form of cuisine is the better choice.
Deciding whether gays should be thrown from buildings, burned, or merely condemned in the same fashion as those who have sex before marriage -- we're gonna say that's more along the lines of a really intense falling-out between one's self and sanity. Like you two aren't even on speaking terms anymore! Just a horrible quarrel, yours!
Al-Qaradhawi does, however, say he considers lesbians to be less offensive than gay men; meaning of course, that they will only be thrown from a one-story ranch house.
