Presbyterians to become more inclusive of gay/lesbyterians?

by Jeremy Hooper

At some point today, the Presbyterian Church will be voting on whether or not to allow flexibility in terms of ordaining gay and lesbian pastors. Gay and lesbian pastors demonstrating their own flexibility, however, we hear will likely always be discouraged.

Before saying the Lord's prayer, I'd like to show you all how I can touch my toes with my head...

Some are worried about potential church division and exodus, should gay clergy be allowed, while others say the compromise plan doesn't do enough to fully include gay folks. We say: Can you also bend over backwards so that your head touches the back of your knee, gay pastor?

We'll let you know once the information comes our way today; however, we're thinking it'll be a "No," as touching one's head to the back of one's knee is a very difficult maneuver. Oh, and we'll also let you know about that whole "ordaining of gay priests" thing.
