Saying it is a question that needs to be addressed by the legislature, the NY Court of Appeals (New York's highest court) has just ruled against legalizing gay marriage.

Dissenting: Chief Judge Kaye, Judge Ciparick
*Judge Rosenblatt had recused himself from the case

Chief Judge Kaye says in her dissent: "I am confident that future generations will look back on today's decision as an unfortunate misstep."
