Extra, extra: LGBT groups launch newsie campaign

Starting today, a joint ad from the National Gay and Lesbian Taskforce, Freedom to Marry, and the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) will begin running in fifty newspapers across the country, in which more than 60 civic, religious, labor and civil rights leaders and organizations declare their commitment to equality for gay and lesbian families:

Much better than our idea for a joint ad campaign...

Jointad

...which would've only reached a very nichey audience.

At $250,000, the groups' national campaign is believed to be the largest ever print ad buy dedicated to the cause of gay rights. Meaning that our planned $240,000 print campaign would look paltry in comparison, so we'll instead just keep warning people via this here online site that if they don't open their minds to the idea of marriage equality, then God will cancel "American Idol."

That should do the trick!

Marriage Matters: They’re committed. So are we. [Taskforce]
MARRIAGE MATTERS Civic, religious, civil rights leaders join to declare ‘Marriage Matters’ in a broad, new affirmative ad campaign [Freedom To MArry]
