The lllinois Family Institute's Peter LaBarbera (pic.) has announced that he's stepping down as Executive Director of the regional "pro-family" organization so that he can launch his new, national gay rights-challenging group, Americans For Truth. A name he of course arrived at by using that old "pro-family" group formula:

**UPDATE: Actually, despite what this IFI press release says, a reader has informed us that Peter's "Americans For Truth" group has been around for awhile. The content from its old website seems to have been purged, so our guess is that LaBarbera's taking a new direction, hoping to mainstream it and make it one of the big "pro-fam" players.

**UPDATE2: LaBarbera has confirmed that this is a re-launch of AFT.
