A matter of 'preference'

Reuters is today running a piece on the struggles of gay adoption:

While we appreciate the piece on a very real problem, we feel the need to instead comment on another issue:

It really is a good story on the all-too-ignored issues that U.S. gay couples still face when they adopt in both this country and abroad, so please read it. But on that same token, we ask that Mr. Finkle and Reuters please also read what we're telling you and stop using terminology that keeps the gay adoption-unfriendly culture of stigmatization alive and well in this world.
