Moderate musings: Pirro visits Log Cabin
The NY Observer's Politicker blog has coverage of NY Attorney General candidate Jeanine Pirro's appearance at a Log Cabin Republican event last night, detailing how the beleaguered GOP contender took time to voice her support for gay rights, even as news broke that she's under federal investigation for allegedly plotting to record her husband to see if he was having an affair.
Refreshing! Very different from the majority of her party, who won't voice support for gays even under the most scandal-free of circumstances. Hell, gay rights support is a scandal for far too many of those cats. But I digress.
After talking about her pushes for hate crimes protections and support for equality (which you can hear in audio recorded by the Observer), Pirro closed her thoughts by asking, "And by the way, how was your day today?" a reference to the charges against her. And while we don't know about the validity of the investigation and the repercussions it will elicit, we do want to thank Ms. Pirro for capping her obviously trying day by helping to put bias to rest with the kind of gay-friendly lullaby that far more in her party should learn to croon.
But Pirro Soldiered On [The Politicker, NY Observer]
