Passing the queer-friendly baton: WA rep backs pro-gay successor

Picture 11-6With a desire to see marriage legalized in the state via legislative means, Washington Rep. Ed Murray (D-Seattle) -- who is leaving the House to run for the state Senate -- has endorsed openly gay attorney and activist Jamie Pedersen (pic.) in the race for Murray's 43rd District seat.

As for the race to capture Murray's bus seat once he's reached his stop? Congrats, Fran Bertram of Medina, for your desire to rest your weary feet after a hard day of work has earned you the nod.

Both Pedersen and Bertram are said happy to have gotten Murray's approval. Here's hoping both of their journeys will eventually lead to Equality Rd.
