Survey: Likely Cali voters less likely to ruin our election day morning afters
As pointed out by BoiFromTroy, the Public Policy Institute of California Statewide Survey (published this week) shows some interesting numbers in terms of gay marriage, with 47% of likely voters responding that they "favor allowing gay and lesbian couples to be legally married," while only 46% of this same group said they oppose (7% didn't know).
A small majority? Sure. But on this issue, even a one point favorable margin has a nice with this ring I thee wed to it.
Other, not at all surprising findings from the survey: 58% of Democrats favor allowing same-sex marriages, while two in three Republicans (66%) oppose the idea; six in 10 residents in the San Francisco Bay Area (61%) are on board with the notion; and young folks of all stripes are more likely to bless legally-wedded Tom and Steves than are older adults.
Surprising findings from our own survey of the survey: We now can't decide whether San Diego or Napa Valley would make for better wedding photographs, when we always thought we'd just do it in the Castro and call it a day. What do you think, Louis Sheldon, Andrea Lafferty, and Randy Thommason -- perhaps you notable Californians have some suggestions?
