If it's 'broke,' still don't fix it: Sheldon stays on 'gays are kid-craving' message
Expounding on his earlier uber-gay-unfriendly thoughts on the Foley scandal, the Traditional Values Coalition's Louis Sheldon today tells what he thinks Americans should learn from the whole deal. In addition to his thought that gays just shouldn't be welcomed in the GOP, Sheldon also says:
Americans need to learn the difference between pedophilia and pederasty. Homosexual activists from the Log Cabin Republicans and other liberal radicals are making the TV talk show rounds claiming that pedophilia has nothing to do with homosexuality. This is a half-truth designed to confuse the viewer into thinking that adult homosexuals have no interest in boys.
The fact is that legally speaking, pedophilia is a sexual desire for boys or girls ages 13 or under. Pederasty, on the other hand, is the homosexual desire for anal sex with older teenage boys. The word comes from the Greek term “paiderastia,” which means to “long for” or “love” a boy.
In 1998, David Thorstad, a founder of the North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA) told a group of homosexuals in Mexico City that “Pederasty is the main form that male homosexuality has acquired throughout Western civilization – and not only in the West! Pederasty is inseparable from the high points of Western culture—ancient Greece and the Renaissance.”
The next time a homosexual activist claims on TV that homosexuality has no connection to pedophilia, remember David Thorstad’s statement and the definition of pederasty.
Wait, the next time the "family values" guys and gals hear a gay activist deny that pedophilia/pederasty have anything to do with sexuality, they're being instructed to quote a founder of NAMBLA?!?! But why would you consider the statements of a NAMBLA founder to represent the gay community at large? The mainstream gay rights movements stands in direct opposition to the organizational goals of NAMBLA! Using NAMBLA to speak for the gay community is kind of like using Westboro Baptist to speak for all Evangelicals!
Seriously, the way some extremists keep trying to parlay this Foley incident into a commentary on the young boy-desiring ways of the gay community at large is enraging, but also completely indicative of their character. Mr. Sheldon brazenly asserts that our community's refutations of their ridiculous claims are "designed to confuse the viewer into thinking that adult homosexuals have no interest in boys." But as per usual, it is they who are relying on NO TRUTH to further demonize gays! It's disgusting, deceitful, and frankly -- a bit immoral!
Though on second thought -- let them keep talking! These are exactly the sorts of comments that reveal the true ugliness that lies behind the campaigns these "pro-family" folks wage against us. As they try to turn the focus off their party's hypocrisy and indiscretions (and while the world is watching), perhaps it's best if these kids DO take to the airwaves and spout their absurd claims. Maybe then the majority will start to see that these characters -- many of whom have the ear of the White House -- are seemingly not out to just "protect the sanctity of marriage," but rather to obtain a world without us in it.
