'How I Met Your Gay Brother'

by Jeremy Hooper

Unknown-1-1In a case of art imitating co-star's life, a CBS publicist has just informed us that on next week's episode of "How I Met Your Mother," Wayne Brady will guest star as the gay, black brother of the character played by openly gay actor Neil Patrick Harris.

Interesting.

And if this bit of stunt casting is successful, we hear rumors that in the following weeks producers will continue the theme of other-raced co-stars taking on their TV sibling's traits, with Alyson Hannigan's character getting an Asian sister who keeps talking about what fun it was to star in the American Pie franchise.

Ridiculous.

**Also appearing on the episode in voiceover form will be Megan Mullally, who will, in her first post-"Will & Grace" sitcom appearance, play the off-camera voice of Barney and his brother's mother. So what do we hear producers have in store for her character's sister? A Latina with a ratings-challenged talk show, natch.
