Five lawmakers, two bills -- one principled mission

by Jeremy Hooper

Picture 6-42The five openly gay lawmakers who comprise Washington state's LGBT caucus today introduced two pro-gay bills -- one that would grant domestic partner benefits to the state's same-sex couples and another that would go for the big enchilada of full marriage equality.

Or as the above announcement likely reads to our "culture war" opposition:

Dramatic.

It remains to be seen if either or both of the bills will gain favor with the full legislature. That of course very much depends on the lawmakers' ability to understand the words "liberty and justice for all."

Your thoughts

As a proud and out Washingtonian I just have to point out one thing: The little video clip is of Oregon, not Washington. Other than that, great article.
