'Queer Eye' passing the basic cable torch?
"Gay, Straight, Or Taken?" seems to be a "Hit, Moderate Success, Or Something Like It?" for the Lifetime network, with the reality game show's first two episodes garnering 1.3 and 1.6 million viewers respectively.
Due to the promising numbers, we hear Spike TV will soon launch "Hey, Lesbian & Straight Girl -- Why Don't You Two Just Make Out And Let Me Watch?"; the Food network has green-lit "Sausage lover, Fish eater, or Forbidden Fruit?"; The National Geographic Channel is readying "Uruguay, Bering Strait, or Maryland?"; and the E! network is fast-tracking "Gay But Pretends To Be Straight & Taken: The E! True Hollywood Story of More Than A Few Actors."
All sound promising!
