UPDATED: Washington bizarrely, overcompensatingly speaks out for gaydom
"Grey's Anatomy" star Isaiah Washington, who you may remember was once accused of being homophobic for allegedly calling co-star T.R. Knight a "f*ggot" during an on-set brawl, reportedly said last night while walking the Globes' red carpet:
"I love gay. I wanted to be gay," .... "Please let me be gay."
Now try as we might, we can't seem to find the context or the question that led Mr. Washington to make the "yay gay!" assertion. That being the case, here's sincerely hoping "Can you give us an example of statements that would never come out of your mouth?" was not the reporter inquiry to which Mr. W. was responding.
But assuming Mr. Washington is really a big fan of the gays and this mention was well-intentioned and truthful -- then we can't wait to see what excessive things he says and does on the GLAAD Media Awards red carpet!

**UPDATE, 1/16: Oh, and Washington "didn't call T.R. a f*ggot." See the video where he boldly declares as much. Washington's use of the word then prompts co-star Katherine Heigl to launch into a TIRADE against him!

I didn't think one could post comments here. New feature?
Anyway, we should respond by telling Mr. Washington, "Okay, we'll let you be gay. Just this once. But we get to film it . . . just in case." ;)

Yes, we quietly started allowing comments. So far, so good.

I just saw the episode on Ellen, but I caught it when it was almost over. I hadn't heard anything about it, so I googled it (of course!) hehehe Anyway, I landed here and so now I know what is going on. I'm a straight woman, but I have to saw that I am appauld that someone in the public eye would stoop to such levels. I really wish we could come together and quit this nonsense. I could care less if someone wants to be in a homosexual relationship - happiness is what is important.
