LA couple writes check for rights check

Joe McDonald and Rob Wright, a couple who have been partners for more than twenty five years, have donated $1 million to UCLA's law school for the purpose of researching the legal issues surrounding gay rights and gay marriage.

In a related story, the heterosexual retirees who live down the road will use their millions to travel the world and research the issues surrounding relaxing on the coast of France and sailing the canals of Venice, as the legal recognition of their love came in a non-debatable format.

Here's hoping that in a scant number of years, McDonald and Wright will be also able to use their funds to celebrate their love, not fight for it. But until then -- thanks for coughing up the dough, boys!
