Forgive me father, for I have voted against the Federal Marriage Amendment

In a newly released document, the Pope has declared that all Catholic politicians have a "non-negotiable" moral duty to oppose same-sex marriage (among other cultural "issues").

Because, of course, a God who gave you the capacity to reason and question the realities of the world would never want you negotiate actuality with multi-translated text that's been written and interpreted by man. That capacity for rational thought that you posses? Yea, that was just put there for decoration, kind of like your uvula or appendix.

::Massive eye roll; dramatic head shake::

It remans to be seen if any Catholic politicians will follow this papal proclamation and drop their support for marriage equality. Just to be safe, we've sent all Catholic Democrats a memo wishing them a happy April Fools Day.

Your thoughts

The Pope is such a joke. He needs a "Queer Eye" intervention and soon. I just can't take him too seriously anymore dressing in robes and satin shoes. The whole concept of what he stands for is shameful, false, and outdated.
