Quinn turns Irish, gayish eyes to Dublin
While she regularly boycotts the NYC St. Patrick's Day parade for its non-inclusion of LGBT groups, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, an open lesbian, has announced that she will up the ante this year by flying to Ireland to march in Dublin's more inclusive parade.
Ooh, both a fun and principled trip! We'll be wearing green with envy!
And in other Irish and NYC cultural news, we hear that Lucky the Lower East Side Hipster Leprechaun will not be throwing a parade for his friend Patrick anytime this year (much less calling him a saint), as the "pot of gold" he sold him was really only "pot of schwag."
So what do these two situations have in common (besides Irishness)? Well, be it marijuana or "marriage, I wanna" -- both Quinn and Lucky will be working to fight the sort of nonsense that keeps them from their goods!
