Just in time for flip flop season: Giuliani now against civil unions

Havaianas Top Flip Flop In Green-1GOP presidential frontrunner Rudy Giuliani has come out to the New York Sun as being opposed to not only gay marriage (as he has previously resisted), but also against civil unions (which he has long said that he supports). In reaction to the news that New Hampshire will be the fourth state to offer the slightly less-than-equal version of marriage, the Giuliani campaign is quoted by the Sun as saying:

"Mayor Giuliani believes marriage is between one man and one woman. Domestic partnerships are the appropriate way to ensure that people are treated fairly," ..."In this specific case the law states same sex civil unions are the equivalent of marriage and recognizes same sex unions from outside states. This goes too far and Mayor Giuliani does not support it."

And of course who better to speak on what does and does not constitute a proper marriage than someone who has had three of them? What, is it that he's monopolized so much of the "sanctified" institution that all we gays are left to much on are not even the civil union scraps, but merely the domestic partnership crumbs?

::sigh:: Uncool, Rudolph!

Your thoughts

Next thing you know he'll oppose domestic partnerships, and vote to criminalize gay sex.
