Not only couldn't he hear, he also REALLY had to go
Providing yet another excuse for why he said in the recent GOP presidential debate that private employers should have a right to fire gay workers, candidate Tommy Thompson now claims that in addition to a shoddy hearing aid, he also had an urgent need to use the bathroom.

Seems like an appropriate explanation. Though let's not get too ahead of ourselves, GW: There's still plenty of time to go before you make it to the eight year finish line. There's still a chance you'll blow up the world and therefore lose your book deal
As for you, Tommy T: Please, for the love of excuses, spare us the one about the dog temporarily eating your conscience.
