Video: Hatin' legislation misrepresentation

by Jeremy Hooper

Over the past few months, you've heard us point out how blatantly the "pro-family" folks are misrepresenting the facts regarding proposed hate crimes protections for LGBT folks. Well, our pals at HRC have put their own ideas into a handy video format:

Or as the religious right will likely refer to this video:

"Wait, are you talking about the video that my side put out regarding hate crimes? No? You're talking about an HRC video. Oh, no -- I only get my information from sources that will feed me information convenient to my world view. You know, if recast Solmonese with Dobson, and then throw out the legal truth an replace it with false, fear-mongering constructions -- then maybe I'll have a gander. But why should I reasonably consider and present the facts of this very serious matter, when 'this bill will thwart Christians' religious freedom" is so much easier to sell to my peeps?"

Or something like that.

Your thoughts

or as an anti-gay commenter on another site said when someone suggested that maybe he didn't know what he was talking about:

"your argument that I need to read all these books about homosexuality is flawed. Why should I open my mind to thier lies. That's all Satan wanted Eve to do in the garden. Just give him a fair hearing."
