Wherein Betty gives us a much needed break
The following is an excerpt from a Wall Street Journal interview with Betty White (where she also says of the queer community: "the gays know funny")
WSJ: A network executive recently remarked that "The Golden Girls" has become a cult phenomenon among gay men. Why do you think that is?
Ms. White: There has always been a huge cult following for the show in the gay community. When the show was originally airing, the gay bars on Saturday night would all shut off their music at nine o'clock, put on the show, and then start up the music and start dancing again afterwards. We always got such a kick out of that.
So why are we bringing you this trivial journey into the world of sitcom remembrance? Well, it's very simple: We could not be more sick of talking about HR 1592 and we needed a frickin' break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And so after bringing you all of the "pro-family" lies and misrepresentations that have muddied our soul as to how low some people will stoop to mislead their fans and followers, we wanted to remind you that this still exists in the world:
Rose Nylund. Sue Ann Nivens. "Match Game" panelist. American treasure.
Get ye self back to TV, Ms. White, and we will gladly stop dancing to pay you the respect you deserve! Perhaps a stint on "The L Word?"

Your thoughts
OK, my partner owns every season of the Golden Girls and still watches epsiodes almost every day, even though he can quote them all by heart. He also watches the Bold and the Beautiful and was very excited when Betty White became a character on that show as well.
