'Survivor: Irvine' -- the true reality show
This weekend, while Exodus International holds another of their national "ex-gay" conferences in Irvine, CA, another event will be held to tell people that they are fine just the way they are. Called the Ex-gay Survivor's Conference, this event will focus on the vast majority of people who've gone through "ex-gay" programs and therapy: those who failed to "change." Check it out:
Because if there's anything in this world that deserves to be challenged, it's this unrighteous, truly damaging, water-muddying spin job:
"This conference is about so much more..it's about you becoming transformed into His image so that you, as part of the body of Christ, can contribute to the body of Christ, making an impact in the world, reaching people who need to be reached."
Ugh, give us a break. Better yet -- give Christ and his teachings a break!! There is freedom to be had, but it requires acceptance of reality and the self, not flawed socio-politc-religo rhetoric!
