New TX rallying cry: 'Remember that Ed's a mo!'
So you might remember that last month, we told you about an anonymous, recorded phone call that was distributed to Dallas voters on election day, wherein the "radical gay agenda" of mayoral candidate Ed Oakley (pic.) was targeted. Well on Saturday, just a week before locals vote in a run-off election between Oakley and Republican opponent Tom Leppert, yet another anti-gay automated call was left for citizens (this one paid for by the conservative Heritage Alliance PAC):
Ah yes, those big three issues: Crime, education, and gayness. Because seriously, there is just no better indicator of one's ability to lead than (a) the murder and theft rate in his district, (b) the number of kids who drop out of schools in his district, and (c) the love he has in his heart for another man.
Employment? The economy? SCREW THAT! We want to know that's he's screwing that, and not that!
Priorities.
For his part, Tom Leppert is denying any connection to the phone calls, with the candidate calling them "hateful" and asking for them to stop. So basically, Heritage Alliance PAC: Even the one dude that your time, energy, and funds are backing is saying that your sh*t is whack! Your own guy is speaking out against those of you who are devoting your resources to getting him elected! Sheesh -- if that doesn't make you feel like a flop, then we don't know what does!

**Oh, and a linguistic note: What's with the announcer's pronunciation of the word "district"? "Disturct" is what is sounds like she's saying.

Your thoughts
There was a good article about Dallas last week in the Blade or Gay City News highlighting the number of gays and lesbians in the city government. Hopefully, Dallas will stick with the trend and not be swayed by this "message".
Hopefully.
