Clearly it's because God hates the hot dog eating contest

by Jeremy Hooper

You know who's no fan of Independence Day? Well, God, according to Fred Phelps:

TOTALLY explaining why the man upstairs never RSVPed to our backyard BBQ! We thought it was because we only had Aquafina, not holy water, and potato salad, not ambrosia. Glad to hear it was merely because he is busy prepping to turn this world into a fiery tar pit.

::writer breathes sigh of relief over the fact that his parties aren't too lame for the heavenly father::

Here's just hoping he won't destroy the world before this writer's birthday party. Everyone knows he gives the best gifts. He does, after all, have exactly the same amount of money as God!

**Oh, and "the man upstairs" to whom we're referring is God, not the actual human who lives directly above G-A-Y HQ. He might get himself invited to our parties, if only he'd stop making so much [subject of this entry]damn noise!

Your thoughts

What a waste of a life.

Fred and family, instead of preaching on how God is "supposedly" punishing this nation, why don't you try and make this nation better for everyone?

(I'm not even sure why I'm even commenting on this video)

"I'm not even sure why I'm even commenting on this video"

Sam, this writer usually says the same thing to himself when dealing with WBC videos. Usually the answer for me is "because it's a slow news day." :-)

Well, it has to be said once again. Fred Phelps and his non-Christian cult at Westboro Baptist do not represent authentic, orthodox Christianity. They are not Christians. They are not Baptists. And they are not a "church." What they are is a blight upon the Christian faith. Their "preaching" and their "demonstrations" are unbiblical and unreasonable. In fact, they are sinful - a perfect example of exalting (supposed) truth while ignoring the grace of God avaible only through Jesus Christ. True love - Bible and Christ-centered love - is a foreign concept to Mr. Phelps and his cult. While I agree with Mr. Phelps that the Bible classifies homosexuality as a sin, that is about all we agree on.

As a gay man it is wonderful to know that this man and his "church" spends every day all day of his life thinking about us. No one can spend so much time thinking GAY and not have something going on that he is not telling us. Yes god is mocked every time this man and his "church" hit the street. But they do help us so much by not making us look OFF THE WALL.

Anyone recognize this rhetoric? Sounds like hitler.
