Vermontflag In an effort to determine whether the state's currently legal civil unions system should be bumped up to full equality, Democrats in Vermont are setting up a commission to gauge citizen's thoughts on the subject of gay marriage:

Legislative commission to test waters on gay marriage [Burlington Free Press]

A development that perfectly fits what we hear is to become the national Democratic party's new slogan:

The modern Democratic party: Waiting for public opinion to justify civil rights fights, rather than fighting for civil rights in order to help positively sway public opinion!

But hey, at least this commission is some sort of forward movement. And we just can't wait for when we, in the sense of fairness, will get to voice our thoughts on the marriages of our heterosexual friends!

We will, of course, get to do that, right?
