Peter threatens to take his anti-gay ball and go home

by Jeremy Hooper

Picture 24-8Speaking about Gov. Arnold Schwarzengger's recent signage of a handful of gay rights measures into law, as well as the seemingly more moderate trends creeping up in the GOP in general, Americans For Truth's Peter LaBarbera says today:

If the GOP joins the Democrats as a party embracing homosexuality, many Christians and pro-family voters will start looking to third parties, or check out of the political process entirely. They certainly won’t be motivated to go out and work for the Republican Party.

And ironically, Peter has done more with that one statement to persuade us about the power of prayer than all of his past attempts combined, as a non-evangelically-hijacked GOP and a low voter turnout of the set that wants to see gays as unmarried and unequal is a scenario for which we've pleaded with the heavens for years and years now. So thanks, Peter, for restoring our faith in spiritual invocation; and we're sure many in the GOP will thank those of you on the "pro-family" team who flee for restoring their party to one whose positive aspects are not wholly overshadowed by unjust discrimination and a desire for church-state marriage!!

Your thoughts

In related news, Peter LaBarbera said that if Christianiity starts accepting gays, values voters will start looking to Islam. And if God starts accepting gays, they'll start looking at Satan.
