Poll: Half of Jersey doesn't want to schlep to our receptions

NjpollA newly released Rutgers-Eagleton Poll of 1,002 New Jersey adults found that 48% favor allowing gay marriage and 45% are opposed. In terms of civil unions, which are currently legal in the Garden State: The poll suggests that 65% are behind the concept, while 30% are opposed (margin of of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points on all results). Read the results for yourself, if polling minutiae turns you on:

GAY MARRIAGE COMES OUT IN NEW JERSEY, YET OPINION IS UNCHANGED [Rutgers -Eagleton Poll (pdf)]

Pretty okay results. However, these latest numbers are virtually unchanged when compared with data from the past few years. Which just goes to show you that our agenda of putting Jersey Boys right in the heart of uber-gay Broadway to lure in and indoctrinate impressionable Garden Staters hasn't paid off in the way we were hoping. Maybe the forthcoming TurnPike: The Musical will have better success.

Your thoughts

I think not just in New Jersey, but all over the country, we are really reaching a tipping point. Now it's just a matter of reaching out to the undecided and opening their hearts and minds about the freedom to marry!

Check out the Let California Ring campaign. They've come up with some really innovative ways to educate the public on this issue. http://www.letcaliforniaring.org
