Video: Evergreen fights ever-gay reality

Because it's important to know the tools our opposition uses to recruit, here is a commercial for the Latter Day Saints "ex-gay" group, Evergreen. Enjoy:

Hey, wake up. Wake up! WAKE UP!!!!!!!!

Welcome back. You know, these kids can create as many powerpoint presentations with as much soothing music as they want. It's still not going to change simple truths. These religions have analyzed homosexuality to a degree so heightened using tools and bases so flawed, they have turned basic biological desire into a quantum junk science in which anything that doesn't jibe with their religious ideals (such as testimony from the majority of actual gays, failure rates of "ex-gays," scientific belief, research, shared character traits, etc.) is discredited, while any tenuous concept that helps their cause (such as the idea that celibacy is the same thing as "change") is turned into an absolute. It's frightening on both an intellectual and humanity level.

But thanks for the video, E-green. Maybe we'll use it tonight if our Ambien stops working.

Notice how much time the video spends telling you that even though this isn't "offically" part of the LDS church, it is highly "endorsed" by church leaders. Faithful, gay Mormons will accept this video as gospel truth and Evergreen as God's answer to help "deliver them" from the temptation of homosexuality.

Mormons accept "God's Truth" (aka the words of the "Prophet" or President of the church,) as being the REAL truth. They believe that "the World's Truth" (aka Science) changes over time and can only be trusted when it supports church doctrine. Because of this, it doesn't matter what any study says. How can you argue with the "Word of God," right?

Regardless of what they believe about church doctrine though, many gay Mormons are desperate for something like Evergreen because being gay means not living up to Mormon cultural and family expectations. For some, the loss of identity is something they just can't deal with.
