Video: Correct your 'handicap', gays

by Jeremy Hooper

And you know, it's actually quite sad that this dude is so against the queers. Because judging by that bedspread, he could really use some good gays in his life. Oy!

Your thoughts

He said that you have to be straight to qualify for heaven. My fundamentalist upbringing was enough for me to know that is not in the Bible. There must be another rule book that they're not sharing with us. That's really not fair. If we're expected to play by certain rules, they need to share them with us.

That guy concedes that we just may be born gay. He concedes that God made us gay. Then he tells us that we're to change the way God made us. I think that would really anger God. They tell our transgender brother and sisters that it is wrong to change what God made. Then this guys tells us that we're to change the way God made us. The wingnuts need to have a mass group meeting and be certain that they're all on the same page. It's no wonder that so many LGBT people have Bible burn.

Anytime that I used the pronoun "they", please read that as wingnuts.

Mike,

The real truth is that "they" (the wingnuts) are the one's demanding change not God. It is because they hold a deep revulsion against homosexuality and all its forms and they use the Bible to justify their prejudice. Just ask anyone of them if they hold to divorce/remarriage and wealth to the same revulsion. They don't. Even tho Jesus spoke out against both adultery and wealth as being hinderances into entering heaven. They make all sorts of excuses to allow divorce/remarriage and the "prosperity gospel" to flourish and hold them as Truths. Why? Because it affects them personally and they don't want their freedoms taken away. Yet, in the same breath, they are willing to condemn gays and demand they "change" all because they are uncomfortable about the issue and wish it away.

I find the fundamentalists and evangelicals the worst of the Christians when it comes to homosexuality. They are so blinded by this one issue that they see that in their own lives they are not bad people unlike the gays. That is why you hear them constantly call gays evil unrepentant sinners. This is because they don't see themselves as such. They claim to be saved which means to them they have every right to judge others that they see as lesser than.

I used to get angry at them but I now only feel sorry for them because being humble is not in their vocabulary as Christ followers. Sad.
