Josh ph**ks with the phag-haters

by Jeremy Hooper

On Friday, we showed you a lengthy email exchange that Out columnist Josh Kilmer-Purcell shared with Westboro Baptist's Shirley Phelps-Roper, after he'd unsuccessfully attempted to donate money to the family's "fag-hating" church. Well now Josh has taken his ironic attempts to "assist" the Phelps family to the next level by launching a new website where he asks readers: "Are you with us? Or are you with the Phelps?" He (whether accurately or not -- you decide) asserts that "there truly is no in between."

For more on Josh's phun new venture, click the graphic below:

**UPDATE: Josh and Shirley have done a joint interview with Australian news outlet Same Same. Queerty has that transcript:

Your thoughts

This may not be such a bad idea. I am always surprised how few straight people really know what kind of discrimination is out there. Many think that things are just fine and are surprised to hear that there are still kids that get thrown out of their homes when they come out. Maybe this would help open up the conversation.

Benton: I've always been of the mind that it's best to call attention to Westboro's exploits. That's why here on G-A-Y, the family is followed so closely.
