Progression? Haven't see it since NOM!

by Jeremy Hooper

The so-called "National Organization For Marriage" group has announced that they're expanding their Jersey-based endeavors into California. They say on their website:

Picture 1-144

We have only three suggestions to offer the group:

(1) Change the word "Californian's" so that the apostrophe is not there. Such a mark is not necessary when one is intending to indicate pluralization as opposed to possession.

(2) Just give it up with this whole "banning gay marriage" thing. Because let's be honest here: The reason why you all are fearing things like this impending CA Supreme Court decision is because you know within your hearts and minds that laws preventing marriage equality are all destined to fall once they are in the hands of a reasoned court. And you have to know that with poll numbers going more in our side's favor every year and the crude tide of early millennial conservatism rapidly ebbing, the days of the American public even entertaining the idea of a gay marriage ban are numbered. More states are legalizing civil unions without incident. Massachusetts has managed to keep their equally non-incidental system of full marriage equality in place despite the tireless attempts to have it overturned. And with every crop of eighteen-year-olds comes an even more gay-accepting electorate. So just face it, kids: When it comes to gays and equality, you're simply on the wrong side of societal progression!

(3) If on our future wedding days you just want to give us cash instead of a gift, that's totally fine. We understand how hard it can be to choose the right item from the registry. So yea -- cash or a check will be fab.

Your thoughts

Impose same-sex marriage on people; how would that happen? Does that mean that people have imposed opposite-sex marriage on me? hmmm.
