Video: Danny does Dixie

by Jeremy Hooper

The proudly gay Dan Savage was sent out by Bill Maher's "Real Time" producers to gauge the queer views of Mike Huckabee's South Carolinian supporters.  Check it out:

::sigh:: Why in a world filled with laziness, obesity, environmental corrosion, cruelty, an epidemic of homeless, and a whole slew of solvable problems, is condemning gays to hell the one passion that will get people off the couch and into action?  People -- hit a treadmill.  Stop smoking.  Investigate the cruelty behind the food you readily stuff in your face.  Recycle.  But your predictions of gays' eternal futures are getting us nowhere!

Encouragingly, South Carolinians this weekend narrowly recognized Huckabee's frightening church-state-marrying views as contrary to what this country needs.  Which is quite comforting for us, as we do enjoy living in this country.

***News Flash***
All christian politicians mess up the country, the good ones and the bad ones. (my apologies, but that includes the gay christians, let's just leave our religion out of politics, it seems to work really good.)
