What sort of 'change' would we get with Huckabee?

by Jeremy Hooper

The following has been posted to the discussion forums at HucksArmy.com, a grassroots site in support a Mike Huckabee's White House bid:

Post subject: The Huckster Cured my friend's Homosexuality...

Hey guys...i'm new to the forum & just recently got into Huckabee because of a friend. My friend Stephen had been gay for about 5 years secretly (although i knew as his best friend). After meeting Mike Huckabee at a rally and discussing his "secret", Mike quoted a few scriptures to Stephen & helped open his eyes to the sinful life he was living. Stephen has since changed his lifestyle & become one with god & accepted Christ as his lord and savior. I'm so happy that Mike took it upon himself to help lead my friend in the right direction!

So, thank you Mike Huckabee...

And while the four subsequent commenters do suggest attributing the "cure" more to God than to Huckabee, all are supportive of the idea that gays can and should change who they are.

Be afraid.

Your thoughts

I read the posts Jeremy. Typical evangelical/fundy talk. If he didn't turn completely straight he must be celibate because God demands it. But in truth it is they that demand celibacy for us. I wish more people understood that.

They really have a problem with gays having any sort of relationships. It amazing. Fight against the love of gays before any Christ related work like feed and clothe the poor.

I'm really tempted to registering over at Huck's Army and voice my long a** opinion. But it would be a waste of time. The post would be deleted and I would be banned as a troll. They probably don't want me to upset the apple cart. ;)

Sorry, I forgot to add:

Perhaps I should point these poor lost souls to Ex-Gay Watch? Change? Riiiight....

Huck also wants to change the constitution to ban abortion and gay marriage, so I guess he's got his priorities "straight" (pardon the pun).

Dear God, Help us. (Paron MY pun).

WOW! Mike Huckabee can cure homosexuality? Can he do something for ugly? His wife looks like a man! Is this guy 4 real? The republican bible-belt morons are probably eating this stuff up - like they did when Pat "Evil Uncle Chuckles" reported he could leg press 2k pounds. Following Re-tardlican politics is like spending a day in Disneyland.

The Christie obsession with us Gay folk. Why don't they focus on more important "cures" like for: hunger, disease, hate? I am sick of the perverse Christie mores. Their legacy is of destruction, pillage, oppression, submission, intolerance, slavery. Heck, they have the best archetype in Hitler. A good model for Mike H to work from. Think about it.

What the country needs is a witch hunt against the religions. We need to prove that their beliefs are endangering people more than cigarettes or Britney Spears. christians cause more suicide deaths annually than people who dies from asbestos, but yet we don't feel the need to rip them out of buildings. I feel a federal ban on christinsanity would save lives.
