'Fake Christians' seek genuine apology

by Jeremy Hooper

Picture 6-110Comparing the former baller to Don Imus and others who've made insensitive comments, some conservative Republicans are now calling on Charles Barkley to apologize for referring to anti-gay marriage, anti-reproductive choice types as "fake Christians":

Group Calls for Apology from Charles Barkley for Anti-Christian Remarks [Christian News Wire]
Charles Barkley Must Apologize For 'Fake Christians' Remark or Face Suspension, Says Rev. Peterson [Christian NewsWire]

And since they are choosing to play this game, we would like to go ahead and call on these religious right folks to apologize to the gay community for the decades that they've essentially referred to us as "fake humans who must 'change' in order to have a semblance or morality." After all, while they might be offended that Mr. Barkley expressed his belief that Christians who think the spectrum or normalcy is big enough for only one religious mindset are embracing a skewed version of faith, we marginalized, unequal, unmarried, shunned, de-Godded, harassed, beaten, killed, kicked out, defrocked, bullied, teased, punch lined, discharged, scapegoated, forcibly closeted, blamed, freedom-robbed, demonized queers passed the "offended" mark YEARS AGO!

Your thoughts

Amen to Charles Barkley. I am so tired of hearing so-caled Christians cmplaining about how their rights are being trampled when they so easily stomp on everyone else's rights when they don't sync up with their view of the Bible.
I am a Christian and my religion teaches that everyone is responsible for their relationship with GOD and in the end everyone will be judged.. not just the gays. I am pretty sure that being gay is NOT a sin, but I am pretty sure all you bible thumpers will have to answer for the hate you spead, for the lives you tortured, for the injustice you enouraged, and most of all for the distorted forms of Chridstianity you used to twist peoples minds.

In a sadistic sort of way it's fun to watch the fundies squirm.

Why do they even think for one moment that Barkley will apologize? Apologize for what? He told the truth.

The Emperor has no clothes!
