MD marriage debate: Dwyer takes shotgun approach
Maryland House of Delegates member Don Dwyer, one of the state's most out and proud 'mo foes, is this year taking a new approach in his perennial attempts to have same-sex marriage banned in the state. In addition to petitioning for a constitutional amendment to ban gay nups, this year Dwyer is also pushing for a bill that would legalize the unions. His thought is that if he can get the issue past committee and onto the House floor (which he could do by obtaining the 47 necessary petition signatures), then lawmakers and community at large will be forced to take sides on the matter (which we're assuming he thinks would work to his benefit). More about the bizarre strategy at link:

You know, it's really astounding how much time, energy, and crafty maneuvering our supposed leaders are wasting on a matter of fairness so simple, our toddler nephews can understand it. And of course by astounding, we mean, "INSANELY ANNOYING AND OFFENSIVE TO OUR DECENT, WELL-MEANING, LOVING, REASONED, SICK-OF-BEING-DEFINED-BY-A-NON-UNDERSTANDING-MAJORITY, READY-TO-MOVE-ON-AND-COMBAT-TRUE-SOCIAL-ISSUES, FREEDOM-LOVING, TAX-PAYING EXISTENCES!"

We knew his ideas could harm rational minds and his anti-gay policies could make our souls hurt. But geez, we never knew our computers were at risk!
